02 Information in brief

You start as a guest, so ThunChat does not need your real name, email or phone number. We handle a guest identifier, anything you add to your profile, your messages, follows and blocks, purchase records, and technical details such as your device, browser and approximate country.

We use this to run matching and messages, keep the service safe, process purchases and improve the site. Service providers help with hosting, media, translation, analytics and payments. Selling personal information is something ThunChat does not do.

03 Chatting in brief

Every match is one to one, by video, voice or text. Be respectful. No harassment, no scams, no pressure on anyone to do anything on camera, no recording people without their permission, and absolutely nothing sexual involving anyone under 18.

You can leave any chat with Next and block or report anyone from their profile. Breaking the rules can lead to warnings, feature limits or removal.

04 Money in brief

ThunChat is free to start: new users get some free matches, and the Reward Center offers more from time to time. After that, matching uses coins. Coins and VIP are sold in the app at the prices shown, have no cash value and cannot be transferred.

05 Features in brief

ThunChat matches people one to one in three modes: Video, Audio and Text. Random matching has no gender or location filter. An online list lets you choose someone instead, and following a person lets you message them or start a video call from their profile later. Typed messages can be translated on the fly.

There is also a short video feed with a Live tab where streams can be watched. Users cannot broadcast. The service runs in web browsers on phones and computers and can be added to a home screen.

06 Reports in brief

Every profile has block and report options. Blocking stops someone reaching you through follows and messages. A report sends the account to the ThunChat team, who can warn, limit, suspend or remove accounts that break the rules. If you are reporting something serious, an email with what happened and when helps.

Please only report real problems. Reports made to harass someone, or to get an account removed for no reason, are themselves a breach of the terms.

07 Cookies and browser storage in brief

ThunChat uses cookies and similar browser storage to keep your guest session, remember settings such as language, and understand how the site is used. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them and ends the session on that device. Some parts of the service will not work without them, because a session is needed for matching.

08 Age

ThunChat is only for people aged 18 or over, or the age of majority where they live if higher. Accounts that appear to belong to younger people are removed when we find them, and reports about them are taken seriously.

09 Your requests

To get a copy of your information, correct it or have it deleted, or to raise a concern about another user, write to [email protected]. Tell us what you need and, if it is about a person, roughly when it happened. We may ask you to confirm the request is yours.

10 Your safety in brief

Everyone you meet on ThunChat is a stranger, and we cannot check who they are or control what they do on their own device. Keep your full name, address, workplace and social handles to yourself, check what your camera can see before a video match, and leave any chat that feels wrong. 11 Service providers in brief

A few outside companies help run ThunChat: hosting and content delivery, the real-time connection for calls, translation of text messages, analytics, and payment processing. They work on our behalf and only for those purposes, and payment card details stay with the payment provider rather than with us.

12 Who we are

ThunChat is operated by the team behind thunchat.com. The support address above is the way to reach us about anything in these policies, from a data request to a question about a purchase. We read every message and reply to the address it came from.

13 Updates

When a policy changes, the date on that document changes too, and this summary is updated to match. If the summary and a full document ever disagree, the full document is the one that counts.
